Cipollini Onion

Cipollini onions have petite, flattened, disc-shaped bulbs, popularly harvested at around 2-3 inches in diameter. The bulb has thin, papery skin. The white flesh is firm and juicy. They are are crisp with a mild aroma and a semi-sweet, but pungent, flavor.

  • Flavor: Mild and sweet, with less pungency than regular red onions. 

  • Uses: Braising, roasting, grilling, and adding to soups, stews, and salads. They are particularly well-suited for whole roasting due to their flat, disc shape and sweet flavor.
