Microgreens

Microgreens are young edible plants, harvested after their cotyledon leaves (the first leaves that appear) develop, and often have one or two true leaves. They are used for a variety of purposes, including boosting flavor and texture, adding nutritional value, and providing a visual garnish to dishes. Microgreens are also known for being nutrient-dense and having a more concentrated flavor than their mature counterparts.

  • Flavor: They can add a fresh, peppery, or earthy flavor depending on the type of microgreen.

  • Uses: Microgreens are versatile and can be used as a nutritional boost in a variety of dishes, adding flavor, color, and texture. They can be used as a garnish, incorporated into salads, soups, sandwiches, and even smoothies.

  • Nutrition: Microgreens often have higher levels of vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants compared to their mature plant counterparts.
