Green Garlic

Green garlic is immature garlic harvested before the cloves fully develop, often referred to as spring garlic or baby garlic. It features broad green leaves and a small, often white bulb at the base, offering a milder, fresher, and sweeter flavor than mature garlic. The entire plant, including the leaves and stalk, is edible and can be used in various dishes. 

  • Flavor: Milder, fresher, and slightly sweet flavor than mature garlic, with a hint of garlicky pungency.  Similar to green onions, but more garlicy.

  • Use: The entire plant can be used in salads, stir-fries, soups, and roasted dishes.  

  • Nutrition: A good source of vitamins, including vitamin C, and antioxidants.
